We would like to thank every band that participated in the GMBS this year. We hope that your experience has been a good one. The performances overall were very impressive and continued to improve as the weeks went by. We hope that you will all be a part in the future and will consider joining the series to include the Finals on November 5, 2011 at Jeff Davis High School. As always, if you have comments on improvement please share with us; it is our genuine desire to make this series beneficial for everyone. The format of finals will be as follows: First performance will be for the Series Class Championship. All bands will receive a placement trophy and will be recognized as a finals participant. The evening performance will be a Race for the Cup. GMBS will award a series cup for the highest three scores regardless of classification. Unlike individual contests, the top 5 band scores will be invited to compete in the Race for the Cup. During the contest phase, the class winners plus next highest score will be placed in finals. Order of performance will be by classification and set by scores in prelim contests; highest goes last.
